François Hadji Lazaro, born on 22 June 1956, was a French actor, musician and producer whose career spanned multiple decades and artistic genres. Hadji-Lazaro was the founder of Boucherie Productions in 1985 and played with various bands such as Les Garçons Bouchers from 1986 to 1995 and Pigalle from 1986 to 2018. He also had a successful career in film, appearing in twenty or more productions since 1987 including the notable Cemetery Man where he had a leading role.

It was shocking news for his fans and loved ones that one of the most iconic rockers of a generation, François Hadji-Lazaro, had passed away on Saturday 25th February 2023. His death was announced by his former stage mate and saxophonist, Stef Gotkovski, who posted a poignant message on Facebook to commemorate this pioneer of popular rock.
