Briefing about the incident, Jefferson County Coroner’s Office Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said officers from LMPD’s 5th Division received a report of a shooting incident in the 900 block of Baxter Avenue, near Highland Avenue and Bardstown Road, at around 5 p.m. on January 15.
Responding to the report, the officers reached the crime scene and listed the shooting address as 975 Baxter Avenue, the address of Wick’s Pizza Parlor in the Highlands. After reaching the location, the officers found a man who had been fatally shot; he was later identified as 52-year-old Marcus Cambron.
Cambron was transported to the university hospital, where he later passed away. The Homicide Unit of the LMPD is continuing to investigate, but they believe all parties involved in the shooting have been accounted for.
