Kevin Osborne was a 16-year-old teenage boy from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The teenage boy was the suspect in the armed robbery that happened at Fulton Bank in Womelsdorf borough on Tuesday afternoon, January 17, 2023. Kevin Osborne used to live in western Berks, and his home was about a quarter-mile north of Route 422 and less than 3 miles from the robbed Fulton bank.

According to the police, the suspect entered the Fulton Bank robbery in Womelsdorf Borough at around 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. When Kevin entered the bank, he had a 30-30 lever action rifle in his right hand and a camouflage backpack in his left hand.

The robber went to a bank teller right away and demanded money from him. The robber canvassed the inside of the bank, after which he fired a single shot in the bank teller’s direction. After firing a shot in the bank teller’s direction, the suspected robber fled from the Fulton bank in a silver Chevrolet Impala, state police said.

How did Kevin Osborn die? Cause of death

Kevin Osborn, a 16-year-old teenage boy who was the suspect in the armed robbery, fatally shot himself during a standoff with state police when the police arrived at his home in western Berks County to serve a search warrant.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the police reached his home in the first block of Tulpehocken Forge Road in Heidelberg Township at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. The suspect’s home is about a quarter-mile north of Route 422 and less than 3 miles from the robbed Fulton bank.

What actually happened?

When the troopers reached his home, they heard a gunshot from within the residence, following which the state police tactical team, SERT (Special Emergency Response Team), was activated. The members of SERT entered the suspect’s house at about 5:15 p.m. and found the body of the teen with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to a statement by Trooper David Beohm, there was no one else in the home when the troopers entered the house. The suspected robber was pronounced dead at 6:12pm by the Berks County deputy coroner. While the teen’s cause of death was later ruled a suicide by the coroner’s office.
